Setting up Ethernet Board and Embedded Ethernet function on the CNC

FOCAS functions can remotely control and monitor the CNC using a PC. The steps below describes how to enable FOCAS on a FANUC CNC equipped Embedded Ethernet or an Ethernet Board.

1. Ensure there is a physical network connection between the node running deviceWISE and the CNC.
2. Press the function key [SYSTEM]
3. Press the continue soft key until the [ETHER BOARD] soft key appears. If this soft key is missing please refer to the related NC Parameters at the end of this section.
4. Press the [ETHER BOARD] soft key to display the Ethernet Settings screen. If ethernet is embedded, you can use the [EMBED PORT] instead.
5. Press the soft key [COMMON] to display the ethernet settings.
   
6. Fill out the settings on the Ethernet settings page.

   Setting	Description
   IP Address	The IP address of the ethernet server.
   Subnet Mask	The mask the server will use on the network.
   Router IP Address	The IP address of the router on the network. (This is not required and can be left empty).

7. After the settings are filled out, press the soft key [FOCAS2] to display the settings for FOCAS2 communication.
   
8. Fill out the settings on the FOCAS2/Ethernet settings page.

   Setting	Description
   Port Number (TCP)	The port number to be used by the FOCAS2/Ethernet functions. Range 5001-65535. (Default: 8193).
   Port Number (UDP)	Set to 0 when using this item for FOCAS2/Ethernet functions. This is the UDP port number to communicate with the FANUC CIMPLICITY CELL.
   Time Interval	Set to 0 when using this item for FOCAS2/Ethernet functions. This is the interval to communicate with the FANUC CIMPLICITY CELL.

9. Related NC Parameters.

   Parameter	Description
   0020	Selects the FOCAS2/Ethernet as the input/output device. This parameter is required only for DNC(Direct Numeric Control) operation.
   0904 Bit#6 DHCP	0: Not used 1: Used
   Bit#5 DNS	0: Not used 1: Used
   0905	During DNC operating using FOCAS2/Ethernet functions the termination of DNC operation is: 0: Waited 1: Not waited. (FOCAS2/HSSB)
   0924	FOCAS2/Ethernet function waiting time in milliseconds.
   14779 Bit#0	Enable Embedded Ethernet functions.
