For customers who purchased HMS CANbus software along with the Dell hardware product, SocketCAN driver should be part of the kernel image already installed on the system.
If the driver is not installed, then
attempt to update the kernel image or snap with sudo apt-get dist-upgrade resp. snap refresh
caracalla-kernel command from the system and reboot.
If driver still does not install and HMS CANbus software is purchased with Dell hardware, contact Dell Support. Make sure, that the SocketCAN driver is installed before the J1939 API installation.
