The MTConnect driver performs the functions of a MTConnect client, communicating with MTConnect agents to retrieve detail information about the tool the agent is supporting. The MTConnect driver supports the MTConnect Protocol Specification version 1.2.0. The MTConnect supports communications from MTConnect agents across an Ethernet TCP/IP connection using the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP).
This guide describes how to use the MTConnect device driver in conjunction with the runtime and the Workbench.
Assumptions
It is assumed that you have experience with the following:
- MTConnect protocol
- MTConnect agents
- The Workbench
Before using information in this guide: should have occurred:
- An Asset Gateway or Enterprise Gateway was installed in its operating environment
- The Workbench is installed on a computer that has TCP network connectivity to the node
- The MTConnect driver was installed using the Workbench > Administration > Packages tab
- An MTConnect agent is available that the MTConnect driver can access via an Ethernet TCP/IP connection
