A USB Barcode Scanner must be configured to send data to the USB Barcode Scanner driver. This is done using the manufacturer's user documentation. The manufacturer's documentation will contain either a barcode or a QR code that allows the user to change the device's interface from the default to the USB-OEM interface.
An example of this would be the Quick Reference Guide available for the Datalogic Quickscan QD2430. This document contains a section titled "Configuring the Interface". The QR Code for the USB-OEM interface must be scanned to allow the Datalogic QD2430 scanner to pass scanned data to the USB Barcode Scanner driver.
