Creating controlled listener

You can create a listener so that a trigger Get Message From Controlled Listener action determines when the listener should get the command request from the remote queue. This feature might be useful when there is a need for the plant floor domain to determine when the next command request from the enterprise application should be processed.

The controlled listener feature is available for WMQ, MSMQ, JMS SIB, and JMS SIB direct listeners. Follow these steps:

  1. From the Workbench left pane, expand the node that you want to add the listener to.
  2. Expand Enterprise, right-click the Listeners and then click New.
    The Create Listener window appears.
  3. Click the Listener Type down-arrow, and then select the listener type that you want to create. For more information, see:
    1. Creating a WMQ listener.
    2. Creating a JMS listener.
    3. Creating a MSMQ listener.
  4. Fill in the remaining parameter values on the upper portion of the Create Listener window as appropriate.
  5. Select the Controlled Listener check box.
  6. When you complete the listener, click Validate.
  7. If no errors are received, click Save.
