SMART START: Andon Supervisor Displays
The overview screen may be displayed on any overhead display supporting a web browser. It is used to signal which workstations require attention or assistance based upon the current Andon configuration options. A legend is displayed to associate the meaning behind each stack light color. From the overview screen, users can click the ‘Administration’ button to perform all available configurations.

The ‘Andon Settings’ administration screen allows users to configure the SMART START: Andon Messaging Board template application. Specifically, it provides the ability for users to name the five (5) Andon options and associate a color and e-mail group for each. For further information on e-mail groups, see ‘’.

The ‘Station Setup’ administration screen allows users to modify station-specific settings such as name and e-mail group per shift. See ‘Figure 1. Station Setup’ for more information.

Station e-mail has priority over the Andon option e-mail. The application will first look to see if there is an e-mail group defined at the station level. If there is, the e-mail agent will leverage that e-mail group to send the message. If there is no e-mail group defined at the station level, the agent will leverage the e-mail group that is defined for the Andon type. If neither fields are defined, no e-mail will be sent and the only representation of Andon activity will be via the Andon log.

The ‘Email Groups’ administration display allows users to configure up to fifty (50) email groups.
Clicking the ‘Edit’ button will allow a user to modify settings for the selected email group. Groups can be selected for modification using the ‘Email Group Selection’ drop-down menu. See ‘Figure 3. Email Group Configuration’ for more information.

Here, users can see the message associated with the Andon button (if any). Users can use the SQL widget’s filter option to refine a search across any of the table’s columns.
