SAML

Overview of deviceWISE Cloud and SAML Integration

SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language) is an open standard for logging users in application by transferring the user's identity from one place (the identity provider) to another (the service provider). It is an open standard protocol used to exchange authentication and authorization data between two different security domains. By making deviceWISE Cloud accessible through SAML it eliminates insecure password proliferation. Primarily the logging is done by exchanging digitally signed XML documents. There are two types of SAML authetication, the Identity Provider(IdP) - asserts the identity of the user and the Service Provider (SP) - consumes the assertion and then pass the identity information to the application.

This guide provides step-by-step instructions to configure and exhibit the use cases supported by the deviceWISE Cloud integration with Okta.
