Viewing Connection Usage

The Usage tab provides the usage of Data, SMS, and Voice for the selected connection and date/time range.

For every connection service at least 2 tabs are present:

  • “Chart” tab with the amount of data used (blue area plot) and the average usage (dotted line); some statistical info are also present on the left side;

  • “Table” tab with all the partial amounts of data coming from the synchronization with the carrier.

The amount of data used is based on the data received after synchronization with the carrier and it happens once every 24 hours. You can refresh the connection to get the data usage updated.

More details are provided in the specific service description in next sections.

Data Usage

Click Data to show the Data usage chart along with the number of Data records, average amount of data per day and cumulative data for the selected date and time range.

For this specific service, the chart shows a blue area for the amount of data coming from the carrier synchronization (called as Volume), an orange area for the Radius data and a dotted line for the average usage data of the Volume.

Furthermore, on the left side the following info are represented:

  • “# Data Records” is the number of partial amounts of data coming from synchronization with the carrier, so referred to Volume only and present in the Table tab

  • “AVG/Day” is the average data consumption related to Volume data

  • “Cumulative” is the total consumed data related to Volume/Table entries

Consider that, mainly on the last days, the orange Radius area could be shown instead of the azure Volume one: this could happen due to the Volume/Table data not synchronized with the carrier yet.

RADIUS tab provides information on when an IP session is STARTED and STOPPED. The table provides the session id along with the data consumed during each session.

The difference between Volume/Table and Radius is that Volume is the usage data coming from the carrier and it’s usually synchronized every 24h usually at the end of the day, rather than Radius is a nearly real time feed of session information.

SMS Usage

Click SMS to show the SMS Chart along with the MO (Mobile Originated) and MT (mobile Terminated) SMS count.

  • The MO count is based on MO CDRs(Charging Data Records)
  • The MT count is a sum of the SMSs that were sent to the device from either the SMS engine or MT CDRs.

Voice Usage

Click Voice to show the Voice usage chart along with the Total voice usage and Average voice usage for the selected date and time range.
