Editing Applications

To edit an application, do the following:

On the Developer screen in the GENERAL group, click Applications.

The Application screen appears.
Click on the corresponding edit button of an Application that you want to edit.

The Edit Application screen appears.

You will be able to update the following:

Field	Description
Name	The name of the application that is displayed on Management Portal pages.
Description	An optional description of the application.
Token	Updating the key is not necessary. If you change it, make sure both the fields have the same exact token. The token must meet the following complexity requirements: Minimum 16 characters. May contain special characters. (e.g. !@#$%^&*()_-+= ... etc.) Must contain at least one capital letter (A-Z). Must contain at least one lower case letter (a-z). Must contain at least one digit (0-9). The token is optional and will be automatically generated, if none is specified.
Repeat Token
Auto Registration Thing Definition ID	The thing definition to use when the software application uses the auto registration feature when it connects to the deviceWISE Cloud. The auto registration feature defines a thing for the application when it connects to the deviceWISE Cloud for the first time. If "None" is selected, only things that are created from within the portal or previously connected to the portal can connect using this application token.
Auto Registration Tags	Tags defined for the Thing when a gateway or a software application uses the auto registration feature. The tags can be used for filtering Things to display on pages.
Auto Registration Security Tags	Security tags defined for the thing when the software application uses the auto registration feature. The security tags can be used to limit a role's access to things.
Roles	Do one of the following: Select the Org Admin check box to give the application the organization administration role Enter one or more roles defined in the organization
License	When the application is for an Asset Gateway or Enterprise Gateway, select the gateway license that can be automatically downloaded to the gateway when it connects to the deviceWISE Cloud. It is possible to choose multiple licenses for a given application. The platform automatically checks for Subscriptions, Perpetual Licenses and SW Update.
