Siemens ERPC device definition

The task of device definition fits into the overall process as follows:

1. Installing your hardware.
   Your device and network installation will determine the deviceWISE devices that must be defined.  The detailed installation of your hardware is beyond the scope of this documentation.
   
2. Configuring your hardware using the Siemens SIMATIC STEP 7 Program Tools.
   The entire capability and usage of the Siemens PLC programming software is beyond the scope of this documentation.
   
3. Installing the runtime software and Workbench.
   Refer to the appropriate Installing product software for installation information.
   
4. Ensure the node has the Siemens ERPC driver package installed and the required license to enable the Siemens ERPC driver functions.
   1. For information on how to add the Siemens ERPC driver package, refer to System Administration > > Packages.
   2. For information on how to install a license, refer to System Administration > Licenses.
      
5. Using the Workbench to define devices.
   This task is described in the following sections.
