The deviceWISE SNMP driver communicates with network devices through the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP).
This guide describes how to use the SNMP driver in conjunction with the runtime and the Workbench.
Assumptions
It is assumed that the reader has experience with the following:
- SNMP architecture
- SNMP Management Information Base (MIB) files and trap messages
- deviceWISE
- The Workbench
Before using information in this book, the following should have occurred:
- deviceWISE was installed in its operating environment.
- The Workbench was installed on a computer that has TCP network connectivity to the deviceWISE node.
- The deviceWISE node has UDP network connectivity to an active SNMP network.
