Using the Map Parms button

It is recommended that you use the Map Parms button as follows:

  1. When all input and output SAP MII BLS transaction parameters were retrieved and appear under the To Enterprise section of the transport map. For more information, see Using Map Parms when all parameters were filled in below.
  2. After you manually created the appropriate SAP MII BLS transaction parameters under the To Enterprise section of the transport map because all parameters were not exposed by the WSDL. For more information, see Using Map Parms when all parameters were filled in below.
  3. After changes were made under the To Enterprise section of the transport map such as a parameter was added or deleted or the row count value was changed. For more information, see Using Map Parms when an In or Out parameter changesbelow.

Using Map Parms when all parameters were filled in

The following assumes that you used the Query button and that all of the input and output SAP MII BLS transaction parameters are available as variables under the To Enterprise section of the transport map.The next step is to use the Map Parms button.

When you click Map Parms, a variable is automatically assigned to the transport map Input and Output tabs based on the data types assigned when the SAP MII BLS transaction parameter was created. The example shows variables for the In parameters added to the Input tab and variables for the Out parameters added to the Output tab.

Because In parameters can only be matched to scalars, map variables on the Input tab will always have a count of 1.

In addition, the input and output variables are automatically added to the SAP MII BLS transaction parameters (under the To Enterprise section.)

This is the best way to use Map Parms because all of the SAP MII BLS transaction parameters under the To Enterprise section were filled in.

Using Map Parms when an In or Out parameter changes

You can use the Map Parms button (after the initial use) whenever changes occur under the To Enterprise section of the transport map. For example, suppose you must delete several Out parameters. In that case, you would delete the parameters using the Remove button and then use the Map Parms button to remove the associated variables from the Output tab.

Follow these steps:

  1. From the To Enterprise section, under Rowset, select the first parameter you want to delete.

  2. Click Remove.
The parameter is removed from under Rowset.
  3. Continue the process until all the appropriate parameters are removed.
  4. Click Map Parms.
  5. A message will ask if you want to clear unused Input and Output variables, click Yes.
The corresponding variables are removed from the Output tab.
If you do not use the Map Parms button, you must manually remove the variables from the Output tab.
The last step for the Transaction Server to interact with a SAP MII system is to create a trigger. When you create the trigger, you must have write authorization to the device variables that you assign to the map variables.
