Assigning network connection parameters
This task can be skipped if the CP 343-1 ERPC has already had its IP address, subnet mask and network gateway parameters configured.
It is assumed that you have started the STEP 7 program, have configured a SIMATIC S7-300 station and added the CP 343-1 ERPC module to the hardware configuration.
- From the STEP 7 main window, open the appropriate
project, select the appropriate SIMATIC S7-300 station
configuration and double-click its
Hardware icon.
- The Hardware Configuration (HW Config) for the
SIMATIC S7-300 station window appears.
The station window lets you specify an IP address, subnet mask and network gateway parameters.
If the network is part of an existing Ethernet company network, ask your network administrator for this information. - Double-click X1.
A Properties window appears. - Make sure the General tab has the
focus.
- Click the Properties button.

- In the IP address field, type the
IP address to use for the CP 343-1 ERPC module.
When you run the deviceWISE firmware loader, this is the IP address that will be used to connect to the CP 343-1 ERPC module. - In the Subnet mask field, add the
appropriate subnet mask value for the network.
- Under Gateway, make sure the
Use router option is selected, and
then type the IP address value of your network
gateway.
You might receive a message about your IP address and subnet mask. If so, click OK to close the message. - Click OK.
You are returned to the HW Config window.
You are now ready for Setting the initial time of day for the SIMATIC S7-300 station.
