The Thing category contains the event
types related to the TR50 extension and integration with
the deviceWISE Cloud.
The TR50 feature is installed with the base software installation for some products. For other products, the TR50 feature is added using the Administration -> Packages tab.
When the TR50 feature is available for a node, the TR50
icon is displayed:

The deviceWISE Cloud implements a data model that is the basis of the:
- Definition and view pages of the Management Portal described in the Management Portal Users Guide
- The APIs and interfaces described in the IoT Portal API Reference Guide
- The trigger actions and events related to the thing category described in the IoT Gateway User Guide.
As such, understanding the deviceWISE Cloud data model is important for application developers (deviceWISE Cloud, external application, gateway) and also for users of the Management Portal.
