Management Portal Users Guide

The Management Portal is a web-based application to view and manage all of your Things and Connections that are connected to the deviceWISE Cloud. With the use of the Management Portal viewing and managing all the devices that are connected to the IoT Portal is easily done. The Management Portal not only helps with the managing of devices but also the management of users, update firmware, and all of the other batch type processing you want to perform on your field of devices. Expanding out the functionality of your solution can be done with Campaigns, Cloud Triggers, remote interactivity and other advanced capabilities. This Guide is intended for:

  • The user of the Management Portal to perform IoT solution monitoring and management tasks.
  • The organization's administrator to perform IoT Solution monitoring, management, and administration tasks.

When you log on to the Management Portal, you have access to the information and features of the IoT Portal.

The home dashboard shows recently viewed Things and Connections, 30 days API usage, recent event logs and pie charts showing a quick overview of connected things and status.  To use the home dashboard you need to have connected things.  For more information on creating things in the Management Portal, see deviceWISE Cloud Part 4 - Connecting or Creating a Thing.

Look and feel

Your organization's customization or "look and feel" changes the display of the Management Portal. Your account's permissions, based on the account's role and the permissions of the role, dictates which features you are allowed to access. The descriptions of the Management Portal in these sections are based on a demonstration organization look and feel and the Administrator role.
