Attention Bit

The Attention Bit tab is used to configure the conditions that set a node's attention bit. Functions are also provided to set or clear the attention bit.

The configuration conditions available on a node depends on the type of product (for example: Enterprise Gateway vs. Asset Gateway). The attention bit feature is separate from the Alert Management feature, but they both will display an icon over laid on top of the node's icon. The attention bit icon is the same as the alert warning level icon.

The Modify Attention Bit action is used to control the attention bit from a trigger.

Configuring the attention bit

The attention bit configuration conditions for when the attention bit is set are displayed with True or False settings.

After selecting the setting for each condition, click Save.
To set the attention bit and display the icon, independent of the conditions, click Set.
To clear the attention bit and remove the icon, click Clear.

The display of the attention bit is not based on a count of how many conditions are true. The attention bit is either set or it is cleared. For example: if two conditions are true and the attention bit is displayed, selecting Clear once will clear the attention bit and remove the icon.

Clearing the attention bit from the node's pop-up menu

You can also clear a node's attention bit icon by using the node's pop-up menu:

Right click on the node's icon to display its pop-up menu.
Select Clear Attention Bit.
