MindSphere Part 3 - Creating Virtual Asset

This section describes creating a Virtual Asset to map the data to. To start creating a Virtual asset, go to the Asset Manager. For more information on Asset Manager, see MindSphere Part 1 - Onboarding.

  1. Click Aspects
  2. Click Create aspect

    The Create aspect screen appears. Enter the following:
    1. Enter a Name for your aspect
    2. (Optional)Enter a Description for your aspect
    3. Click Add variable
    4. Enter a Name for the aspect variable
    5. Click the Data type drop down and select the right data type for the variable
    6. Enter the Unit for your new variable. Make sure the Data type and Unit match the datapoint created in MindSphere Part 2 - Setting up deviceWISE to Send Time Series Data
    7. Click Save
  1. Click Types
  2. Click Create type

    The Create type screen appears. Enter the following:
    1. Enter a Name for your type
    2. (Optional)Enter a Description for your type
    3. Expand Aspects
    4. Click Add aspect
    5. Enter the Nameof the Aspect you created. Use the Browse aspects to find the aspect.
    6. Click Save
  1. Click Asset
  2. Click Create asset
  3. Find the asset type
  4. Click on the asset type
  5. Click Create
    The Add asset screen appears. Enter the following:
    1. Enter a Name for your asset
    2. (Optional)Enter a Description for your asset
    3. Click Save
