OPC-UA Client device
definition
To define an OPC-UA Client device, follow the procedure below:
- Install the runtime software and
Workbench. For more information on installing the runtime software on your operating system and Installation of Workbench, see the appropriate Installing
product software section for installation
information.
- Ensure the node has the OPC-UA Client driver package installed and the required license to enable the OPC-UA Client driver functions.
- Use the Workbench to define devices. This task is described in the following sections.
- Using the Workbench to define an OPC-UA Client device — Describes how to define an OPC-UA Client device.
- Verifying an OPC-UA Client device configuration — Describes the steps to verify that the configuration of the device is correct and that the communication path to the OPC-UA server is working.
- Displaying runtime status and attributes for an OPC Client device — Describes how to use the Devices window to view runtime statistics and attributes for each OPC Client device that is in the Started state.
- Using the variables window to access OPC-UA Variable nodes — Describes how to use the Variables window to access variable nodes that reside on an OPC-UA server.
- Variable enumeration when the device starts — Describes how OPC-UA Client device variables are enumerated.
There might be differences between your Workbench windows and the example windows shown; however, the functional capabilities and logic flow will be similar.
