Overview of deviceWISE Enterprise Gateway for Siemens ERPC
The deviceWISE Enterprise Gateway for Siemens ERPC software (hereinafter referred to as the Enterprise Gateway for Siemens ERPC) is installed on the CP 343-1 ERPC module. The CP 343-1 ERPC module is mounted in a Siemens® SIMATIC S7-300 station (hereinafter referred to as a SIMATIC S7-300 station).
In addition to the Enterprise Gateway features, the software includes two device drivers that support several connectivity options.
Siemens ERPC driver
The Siemens ERPC driver can access data from a CPU in
the same SIMATIC S7-300 station where the Enterprise
Gateway for Siemens ERPC is installed. The Siemens ERPC
driver can also access data from other SIMATIC S7-300
stations that contain a CP 343-1 ERPC module without the
Enterprise Gateway for Siemens ERPC installed.
The illustration shows two SIMATIC S7-300 stations. Each
station contains a CP 343-1 ERPC module. However, only one
CP 343-1 ERPC is installed with Enterprise Gateway for
Siemens ERPC. The Enterprise Gateway that resides on the CP
343-1 ERPC module can aggregate data from each SIMATIC
S7-300 station and then exchange the data with the
enterprise applications.
* Note that once the Enterprise Gateway system is deployed, the deviceWISE Workbench is not required for normal operations.

Siemens S7 driver
The Siemens S7 driver can access data from the CPU in all:
- SIMATIC S7-300 stations with built-in Ethernet ports
- SIMATIC S7-300 stations with Ethernet CP types
- SIMATIC S7-400 stations with Siemens CP 434-1 CPUs
- Ethernet capable SIMATIC S7-200 and S7-1200 stations.
The illustration shows a SIMATIC S7-300 station that
contains a Enterprise Gateway for Siemens ERPC and the
SIMATIC S7 PLCs supported by the Siemens S7 driver. The
Enterprise Gateway that resides on the CP 343-1 ERPC module
can aggregate data from all PLCs in the network and
exchange the data with the enterprise applications.
