FANUC CNC Device Definition

The task of device definition fits into the overall process as follows:

  1. Installing your hardware.
Your device and network installation will determine the devices that must be defined.
The detailed installation of your hardware is beyond the scope of this documentation.
  2. Configuring your FANUC CNC.
The entire capability and usage of the FANUC CNC is beyond the scope of this documentation.
The section Setting up Ethernet Board and Embedded Ethernet function on the CNC contains information specific to the configuration of the different FANUC CNC devices.
  3. Installing the deviceWISE Runtime software and Workbench.
For more installation information, see Installing product software.
  4. Ensure the node has the FANUC CNC driver package installed and the required license to enable the FANUC CNC driver functions.
    1. For information on how to add the FANUC CNC driver package, see System Administration > Packages.
    2. For information on how to install a license, see System Administration > Licenses.
  5. Using the Workbench to define devices.
For more information on Workbench, see Workbench.
